Three keys to a B2B Sales resume
01
Show results against quota
Sales results mean most next to the target. Add one or two comparable numbers per role, such as annual quota attainment, new customers or average deal size.
02
Say who you sold what to
The skills you need depend on the customer's industry and size and the product. A short note on industry, customer size and product makes your experience clear.
03
Show your way of selling
Two people with the same numbers differ if one is strong at new logos and the other at expanding accounts. Add the methods behind your results, such as standardized proposals or new partner channels.
Writing the summary
Put your industry, type of sales (new business, account management and so on) and one headline result in one or two sentences. Phrases like 'hit quota three years running' show consistency.
I have sold work management SaaS to manufacturers for six years. I am strong at new business, hit annual quota three years running and raised the team's close rate by standardizing proposals.
Try rewriting it like this
BeforeResponsible for acquiring new customers.
AfterWon 18 new mid-sized manufacturing customers in a year, reaching 130% of quota and KRW 1.2B in new revenue.
Customer type, results and attainment against target show sales skill.
BeforeManaged customers well.
AfterVisited 40 existing accounts each quarter to review usage and propose add-on modules, growing annual contract value per account by 25% on average.
With your method and the revenue change, you don't need to say 'well'.
BeforeWrote proposals.
AfterBuilt proposal templates and case studies by industry, halving the team's proposal prep time and lifting close rate after proposal from 20% to 28%.
Raising the team's results is evidence of leadership.
Organizing skills
Separate sales skills (prospecting, proposals and negotiation, account management) from tools (CRM, Excel, proposal decks). If you sold in another language, add it with your level.
What changes with experience
If this is your first application
For a first sales job, look for times you persuaded people or hit targets in part-time work, retail or activities. Include any result you can put in numbers.
If you have more experience
Later, lead with large deals, new markets and managing team quota. A short line of annual attainment by year shows consistency well.
Common mistakes
Only personality words like proactive or friendly, no numbers
Not checking whether client names or deal sizes can be shared
Presenting team revenue as personal results
No mention of who you sold to or what
Frequently asked questions
Do I need exact revenue figures?
If you cannot share them, use attainment or growth rates. If you do give amounts, make clear whether they are personal or team results.
Can I move from B2C to B2B sales?
Prospecting, persuasion and relationship management carry over. Lead with long sales cycles or persuading several decision-makers.
Should I list CRM experience?
Yes, many companies use one. Name the tool and briefly how you managed your pipeline.
